Kuantan’s follow-up Sikh youth camp

By Narian Singh

Some 70 participants took part in the Kuantan mini-samelan on the Jan 20-24, 2012. This follows the earlier Sikh youth camp in mid-2011 at Gurdwara Sahib Kuantan, Pahang.

The camp, organised by the Sikh Naujawan Sabha Malaysia, saw various activities. They included youth development programme, inspirational sessions, the amazing race, turban tying and a futsal tournament.

Darshan Singh, the Naujawan sewadar in Kuantan, said that intend to set-up a naujawan wing under’s banner. They plan to organise a Pahang-level samelan every 6 months.

During the camp, Ajeetpal Singh (Klang) and Kulvinder Singh (Kemey) from Ipoh conducted the Inspiration Session (IPS) and Sikhi Power sessions. Manjit Kaur (Subang) managed the activities for the Mighites (the younger kids).

It was an interesting camp. At least 11 boys and 7 girls decided to keep their kesh. Kudos to the Sabha, the Gurdwara Sahib Kuantan and others for making the camp happen.
